Vein Disease

More than 80 million Americans suffer from some sort of venous disease, many without knowing. Symptoms can be as seemingly small as pain in the legs, or as obvious as discoloration or varicose veins. Healthy veins carry blood against gravity into the heart. Inside the veins are one way valves that stop the blood from flowing backwards. If the valves become weak or fail, the blood doesn’t travel to the heart like it should. Instead, it pools or backs up inside of the vein. The pressure from this results in venous reflux or disease.
